Beth Reil - Technology Education

Beth Reil was born May 12, 1963 in Plymouth, Wisconsin. She is the sixth of seven daughters born to Clarence and Frances Abraham. She attended St. John Lutheran School and Plymouth High School, graduating in 1981. She graduated summa cum laude from UW-Oshkosh in January of 1986 earning a B.S. degree in elementary education with a minor in mathematics. She is licensed to teach all subjects in grades 1-8 and mathematics through grade 9.

From August 1986 until May of 2000, she taught math to 7th and 8th graders at Einstein Middle School in Appleton. During that time, Beth and her family lived in New London. In June of 2000, Beth, her husband Tom, and their daughters Kaitlyn, Lauren, and Nikki moved back to Plymouth. In August of 2001, she was hired as a part-time computer and algebra teacher here at SJL. She thoroughly enjoys her job; the most enjoyable part is getting to know every student in the school.

Her teaching philosophy is simply this: Know your subject well and find an interesting way to get it across to the students. The best moments in the classroom are hearing comments like "I get it!" or "This is so cool!" from the students. Beth strives to make learning interesting and enjoyable.
